While pumpkins can be grown successfully in most years, the crop can still benefit from the use of transplants, plastic mulch and crop covers. Cold and wet conditions at harvest can result in significant losses to rot during storage and marketing.

  • Baby Bear (J, LIN) – excellent yields of very uniform, small, thick-walled fruit.
  • Rouge Vif D’Etampes (J, WCS) – very high yields of large (11-15 kg), red skinned, thick walled, flat fruit. Unique shape and good potential for use as a pie pumpkin.
